'Hired Gun' Blu-Ray, DVD, VOD Proceeds To Benefit MusiCares

August 29, 2017

Los Angeles-based distributor Vision Films will donate a portion of "Hired Gun: Out Of The Shadows, Into The Spotlight" Blu-ray, DVD and VOD proceeds to benefit MusiCares, the Recording Academy's charity providing a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need.

"Hired Gun" was released by Vision Films in theaters across the USA in partnership with Fathom Events in June and released on Blu-ray, DVD and VOD this month in partnership with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Additionally, worldwide distributor Vision Films created subtitles in twenty-six languages and will release the film globally on several VOD platforms for music fans across the world beginning on September 15. Currently "Hired Gun" is Amazon's Top Choice for four consecutive weeks in Music Documentaries.

MusiCares's services and resources cover a wide range of financial, medical, and personal emergencies, and each case is treated with integrity and confidentiality. MusiCares also focuses the resources and attention of the music industry on human service issues that directly impact the health and welfare of the music community.

The acclaimed music documentary is about the most successful, consummate session and touring musicians who, besides creating their own music, are hired by well-established and infamous bands and artists including BON JOVI, John Mellencamp, METALLICA, KISS, Billy Joel, Pink, Gwen Stefani and many more. These hired guns — bassists, drummers, guitarists, producers and songwriters — are undeniable masters of their craft who dive into the art of creating the historic rock music of our time.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH guitarist and "Hired Gun" executive producer Jason Hook says: "It gives me great pleasure to give back to the business I love, and donate a portion of the proceeds from this heartfelt film about musicians to a wonderful charity that supports musicians in their time of need."

Managing director / CEO of Vision Films Lise Romanoff says: "We are honored to partner with MusiCares. This film truly shows us how powerful music can be, and we are honored to have this opportunity to use this film to support this worthy organization."
